There was no insurrection, though many of the protesters are being charged with trespassing.

In an earlier era they would've been offered a blindfold then  lined up against a wall and shot

along with the person who sent them to congress to fight.

Source(s): We weren't barbarians back then, they would've been allowed to smoke a last cigarette.

They should be held accountable.  The problem is, current laws don't cover domestic terrorism effectively.

Being invited into a building by police, walking around a public building they owned and not being legally trespassed is not even a crime, so a summary execution seems very excessive.

I don't think they should be executed but the certainly should be held accountable for their federal offenses.

The only actual insurrection we've seen in the past year was CHAZ/CHOP who seized US territory and proclaimed themselves sovereign.

Democrats cheered them.  Even after they murdered two black teens.  Or was it because they murdered two black teens?

Perhaps you should learn what you're talking about before you talk about it. The penalty for insurrection is a max 10 years. You're thinking about treason.

18 U.S. Code Chapter 115"Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office..."

That seems harsh ... both Portland and Seattle seem to have survived.

That's extreme.  All the rioters should be felons.
