14K GOC Stamp inside ring. What does GOC mean?

    It basically means the ring is gold plated over a base metal, rather than being solid gold.

    The 14k means it's plated with 14 carat gold. 

    Regardless of the type of gold, it will flake off and lose its lustre over time
