Why didn’t they charge me for tip?

I went to a restaurant last night with a group of friends. We all got separate bills. I checked my bank account today and I see that they only charged me for my meal, tip not included. I guess I should hit up some of my friends to see if they got charged for tip. I left the merchant receipt right on the table, so don’t know what happened.

Don’t worry they probably didn’t deserve it anyways

The tip will hit your account later when the charge is finalized.

They might charge you later or the waitress forgot (or didn't care if it was tiny).

If it was a swipe first/tip later situation....When they swipe your card the first time, it pays for the food. The waitress has to go back and then add back the tip and collect it. If they don't do that, the tip never gets charged and the restaurant just charges the original bill that was swiped.

YOU should have added the tip to your bill. The restaurant doesn't do that when people in a group pay separately.
