Gasoline or Electric?

Should I buy a gasoline or an electric? How long of an extension cord will I need? My commute is 8 miles. Do I need 16 miles of extension cord?

16 miles of extension cord is easier to deal with than a 16 mile fuel line.

You only need 8 to cover both the drive out and the drive back. But you better pack more if you want to go out to lunch as well. Don't forget the costs of remodeling, you want a well lit garage with picture windows so the neighbors can see how green you are.

Buy an electric.  Buy a trailer.  Buy a small gasoline fired generator and put it in the trailer.  Go where you want.
