Does covid not excite in TV shows?

in Punky Brewster it's set in 2021 but the covid pandemic doesn't excite how is that possible?

    Not if they' rerun episodes.

Lots of tv shows haven't really mentioned the pandemic even though it's interrupted production of tv shows. Work on the reboot of Punky Brewster has also been going on a while. It's entirely possible that Covid hadn't really hit during the early writing or that they thought that it would be under control by this time.

TV is fictional.  They dont have to incorporate any real world elements they don't want to.  I'm only watching non-covid TV.  TV is my relaxing time.  Not my I need to stress out about the pandemic like I've been doing all year time.

    *exist

Some shows have focused on it and others have decided to ignore it.

Maybe you can just pretend that Punky Brewster is set in 2022.

Because every one despises covid. It has ruined countless lives and still is. There is nothing exciting about it.
