What are the psychodynamics of schizophrenic delusions?

How does psychodynamics reach into the subliminal and unconscious mind of the patient to take into consciousness  (and hopefully alter) delusional thinking?

Update:

Say for example the delusion that one is hearing the voice of a deceased relative. You can use any as a reference, just thought I'd provide an example for the sake of ease.

Hey...back up, there. The terms are jumbled. My thoughts about schizophrenia is that the mechanism that serves to allow a manageable amount of unconscious material to become conscious is malfunctioning, thus the conscious mind becomes overwhelmed by unconscious material.
