After thousands of years, why do Asians still eat with chopsticks, when they know spoons and forks are more efficient?

I tried it!  Its impossible to eat soup with two wooden sticks!

You drink the soup. I never got the hang of chopsticks either but people who do use it are ore mobile with them than forks.

EAT  verb- put food in the mouth and CHEW and swallow it

DRINK verb  - take a LIQUID  into the mouth and swallow

      both definitions answer WHY

chopstick for  EAT and spoon or cup for DRINK

according to archaeologist   they can point to the  evidence of the SPOON  a SMALL BOWL with a long handle around 1000 BC from Ancient EGYPT  made from wood ivory stone   owned by pharaohs  with hieroglyphics  or RELIGIOUS symbols

In SHANG DYNASTY CHINA ( 12/31/1001BC - 01/ 01/ 2000 BC )  spoons  were made  of bone  Early  BRONZE spoons in CHINA  were designed  with a SHARP POINT  and used also as CUTLERY  to stab and pick up food with other end

uses a spoon for soup , and uses chopsticks for solid food , but then you mustnt eat chinese or else you would know it ..

  • Asians will use a spoon-shaped object to consume the broth component of soup and chopsticks for the noodles/meat/veg component.  Using chopsticks is quite easy to learn.

Barbarism is always innocent ignorance, isn't it?

Until just 2,300 years ago, when we were eating with chopsticks and spoons, you would carry spaghetti to your mouth with your hands and stab your neighbor with a hunting knife.

Don't worry, we have spoons before you use them.

And the table manners are different in the east and the west.

This means that each dish developed differently. In other words, the way of cutting and cooking food is also different from those in the area of spoon and fork.

So we don't have any trouble with meals just with chopsticks and spoons.

Can you believe that others continue to do things inefficiently just because "tradition"?

You must be the one who deserves that cute statement.

And one more thing, Asia means a very large area ... didn't you know that?

In some countries, chopsticks made of materials other than wood are more common.

After thousands of years, you still don't get that not all Asians use chopsticks and no chopstick using person would use those for drinking soup but I guess you're one of those people who can use a fork efficiently to do so..

Tradition. And they don't eat soup with chopsticks. I guess you have never eaten soup in a Chinese restaurant. Spoons are provided.

They cheat, they sip right from the bowl.
