Does this sound normal? My anxiety is through the roof?

Question

I went for a blood test yesterday because I've been feeling lightheaded and off balance. I've just received a text this morning saying the results from my test have been received and for me to make a phone appointment with my gp at my convenience to discuss results. When I had a blood test year I just got a call saying I just needed a prescription of iron tablets I didn't have to speak to a doctor so now I'm feeling sick with worry. I've rang to make an appointment and it's not till another 4 days how do i keep calm until then

If it was critical, you would be seen immediately or referred to the ER. So calm down. They want to review and discuss options, at your convenience means not emergent.

If it was something urgent they would make an appointment that day.
Normal wait time for appointments at my dr is 1 - 3 weeks. I have had calls from receptionist saying " Dr has reviewed your results and we have reserved an appointment for you at 10 this morning."  That is scary!
Something is out in your results, probably anaemia, and treatment options need to be discussed.
Mild - diet, moderate - supplement, severe - IV infusion, very severe - transfusion.

You are right to be worried.  Doctors don't call you in to chat about the weather.  4 days is a long time to wait.  Go to your doctor's office today and demand some immediate answers.

I had the same. Blood test and prescribed Iron Tablets for a low blood count whatever that is. Nothing at all to be concerned about. Iron tablets will make your poop very dark but,once again,nothing to worry about.

Probably still just anemia, the doctor just wants to discuss other treatment options
