Why doesn't MS create a virus immune OS like Apple?

Update:

💻 🧟‍♂️

Update 2:

Thanks Mick I try to ammuse

Update 3:

Looks like Brother Clay has the insight. 🎖

Update 4:

To sum up I think the volunerability of Windws actually keeps it stronger as an organisations large firewall will see hackers coming- the simplicity of Win will keep the attacks simple. Mac OS needs a bigger hit which'll lead to a catastrophic knock out. Leaving holes n volunerabilities makes things more predictable, repairable, manageable.... keeps the hackers stupid 🥴🤪

No system is immune.  We are looking at payout.  The most used O.S. is going to get hacked into first. Apple is on top of it with its programmers to keep viruses out.

M$ for the longest time were asking 3rd parties to supply the AntiVirus programs as M$ did not want to write it, so access was gained into the system. Thus the fun began.

Apple's OS isn't immune; a windows- based pc is more popular so from a hacker perspective, it makes sense to write a virus for the more popular OS

@dewcoons , You GOT To be kidding me!!!  Windows Defender is the lamest most WORTHLESS software on the PLANET!!!!!!  It is literally USELESS against MOST VIRUSES and malware!!!!  I work on THOUSANDS of computers a year, and come across HEAVILY HEAVILY HEAVILY infected computers with Defender!!!!!!  It's actually even more useless than McCafe, which I used to think was THE most useless AV.

There is no such thing as a virus immune operating system.  MacOS isn't as widely used as Windows, and there aren't as many people writing viruses for that system.  Linux, OpenVMS, and AmigaOs, are other operating systems that just don't get as much attention from virus writers as Windows.

Ha ha ha!  YOUR ignorance is mind-bogglingly brilliant.

I'm not even sure why YOUR stupidity makes you believe that "CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION" indicates that you've got a virus.

Hahaha! Apple's OS isn't immune to viruses and ms isn't concerned about viruses when their OS acts like one.

OSX isn't immune to viruses.  Unix-like operating systems are more difficult to create viruses for and there are far fewer users of Macs than Windows. Not worth the time and effort.

    It's simply low hanging fruit.

The error screen is not from a virus.

They have.  It is called Windows Defender and is included with every install of Windows 10.

the reason why there have been more viruses created for Windows PCs then for Apple PC is because 95% of the computers in the world run a version of Windows.  5% a version of the MAC OS.  So  no one waster their time creating viruses that can only affect 5% of the PCs in the world.  they go after the 95%.

Also, I hope you realize that Apple computers can get viruses.  Examples include Silver Sparrow (which only attacks the M1 processors used in MACs last year), Pirri/GoSearch22, Generic.Suspicious (which accounts for about 80% of MACS that have gotten viruses), FakeFileOpener, ThiefQuest (which is a ransomware virus), LoudMiner (which looks for an steal bitcoins from MAC PCs), and SearchAwesome

It is just that because Apple has such a small percentage of the PC market, the viruses fo not make the news the way that Windows viruses do.

MacOS isn't virus immune.  Virus authors want to be able to infect the largest possible base of computers, so they're going to target the most-used operating systems - in this case, Windows.  There are still viruses written for MacOS, and the number is on the increase since more people are using Macs.
