2017 Camaro: humming noise. Dealership giving the run around?
Have any Camaro owners (years 2016-2018) have any issues with the vehicle making a loud humming noise? It happens around 1.5/2 rpm's when I'm just allowing the car to roll, not accelerating or braking.The humming noise will start really low & progressively get louder and then the noise just stops. Sounds like its coming from the front passenger side.
I've complained the the dealership where I purchased the car from since 2017 when I got my 1st oil changeand they have given me the run around stating they can't reduplicate the noise & have only done a flush on the trans but that did not resolve. Anyone have any experience with dealerships like this & have any detailed expertise how to get the dealership to fix an issue they've obviously been giving me the run around on? Or any Camaro owners with the same issue, if so how did you get the dealership to fix? What was the outcome? Did you have to threaten legal action?
Reading comprehension skills are necessary. I never said I was going to threaten legal action. I used it as a probing question.

That sounds like a bad wheel bearing or hub bearing on one of the front wheels. If that's not it, it sometimes can be the serpentine belt, not that it's bad, it just makes that noise when it is vibrating, usually obvious when the engine is warming up. Goes away after engine gets hot. Sometimes the span or distance between accessories is significant and the belt has a lot of air to cover. When the engine is cool or cold, the coolant in the engine water pump is thicker, the alternator is sluggish, and so on. Once things warm up there's less stress on the serpentine belt. Make sure you check for the noise with the A/C or defroster off and then listen for the noise with the A/C or defroster on.

Call GM headquarters and ask for a field representative to come and look at your car if your car is still under warranty. If not, you are on your own. Try replacing the wheel bearing on the front passenger side if your car is past the warranty.

Threaten legal action? Your car is no longer eligible for the lemon law. You have no legal recourse.
The dealership isn't punting. They can't fix something that doesn't happen when they have the car.
- So "no" they are not "obviously" giving you the run around.
Why don't you record the sound so they can at least confirm it happens.
