How will construction contractors find enough workers this spring and summer since people now can stay unemployed and bring home more money?

Update:

Mark - A contractor just informed me that he is having trouble finding ENTRY level workers.  Those jobs, in many cases, don't pay as much as one could make staying unemployed.

isn’t that what all the illegals are for? to steal those jobs and drive those wages down?

The problem is with things like bars and restaurants.  Construction won't be a problem because of the flood of illegal immigrants pouring in who Biden will allow to get work permits while US citizens stay at home collecting unemployment.

Where I live most of the construction workers aren't eligible for unemployment, not to mention that they've remained on the job sites the whole time as essential workers.

Home prices are very high now and I have a hard time getting a contractor to give me an estimate on my remodeling project. They're too busy having more work than they can handle.

    Because you are a nitwit.

Judging from the decrease in new unemployment claims, people are starting to find work.  And in order to collect unemployment, you must demonstrate you are seeking work.

! - Unemployment does not pay as much as doing construction work.

2 - There are always undocumented workers who are not eligible for Unemployment.

That's a great question - I've heard anecdotal evidence from several employers that that's a real issue, and they are having trouble finding workers for that reason.
