Does Alaska Have Any Plans to Move Its Capital?

The capital of Alaska, Juneau, is inaccessible except by boat or plane.  At various times, there have been reports that Alaska will move its capital to a better location.  What is the reason for the delay?

There HAS been discussion of moving the capital to Anchorage, but that's been repeatedly denied because such a move would be expensive and would not provide any additional accessibility.  It's somewhat more central, but because Alaska is such a huge state and with such relatively low population density across the board, no place is going to be accessible to most citizens.  And most citizens don't need to access the capital city in order to have input into their state government.

This has been long debated and is still a matter of discussion to move to Anchorage. The big drawback is the cost of the move which would have to be approved by Alaskan voters.

Not sure why you're obsessed with the location of capitals, but exactly where in Alaska is "more accessible". I was in Juneau, off a cruise boat. We watched the sea planes coming and going by the dozens. It's as accessibly as just about anywhere else.
