so my bf never told me he had herpes for 5 years. he eventually admitted it and said he was taking medication all along but he still had out breaks when he didn't take the medication. all this time he let me give him oral sex w no condom. even ejaculating inside my mouth which I unknowingly swallowed. I went and got tested after not knowing for 5 years and im positive. how would you react to all of this?

I would feel betrayed because herpes increases one's chances of getting cancer especially esophageal and oral cancer.

You can if you want to. You have the same thing.
I would be upset that he wasn't honest with me, and that he gave me an incurable disease. Trust can be a big issue with relationships, if you break some one's trust it can be hard to earn that back. Who knows what else he didn't tell you about, if he couldn't tell you about that. 
Don't feel obligated to stay with him, because you have the same thing.

I am not sure but maybe you should cut  off all contact with him..  yeah you obviously can contact herpes  from oral sex and just try cutting him off

You might have been a carrier before you were exposed to him, but yeah, i'd be pi ssed if someone didn't tell me they had a disease or if i didn't understand what i was involved in.  i would avoid activity during outbreaks, otherwise, idk, do you realize there's more than one type of herpe
