Does the company also accept scrap metals coming from restricted materials?

    Ask them for their restriction list!

    They won't take pennies because Pennies are copper/zinc not pure copper like wire is.

    There are many metals which are a blend like stainless steel which is steel/nickel.

    The scrap metal company won't accept copper cents, illegal for some unknown reason but they will accept copper wire. You have to have a drivers license for identification. I took a lot of scrap Iron and got paid cash, quite a bit of cash not reported to the IRS. To Mel, pre-1960 the one cent piece was pure Copper except for the 1943 pure Steel except for the1857 Three Cent Silver, a short run that only lasted three years starting in 1854
