Yahoo Answers: Another public forum shut down because of its users?
Of course, last year most media sites shut down the comments sections following their reports to keep their contacts more enjoyable for their readers; a nice way of saying how unpleasant the comments had become.
It has happened in the past, sometimes without any reason given as to why. Now Yahoo follows. Of course, other parts of Yahoo have been shut down. So I wonder if it is simply a financial matter, a format matter, or...
The caliber of questions and answers by many users?
I tend to lean toward the latter in my opinion but I may be biased as I have been finding myself more and more disgruntled by the time it takes to find real questions in the property categories as well as redundant questions sometimes posted multiple times through the course of a week-and longer.
Thoughts? Anyone locate a report about it or more information about why Yahoo Answers is shutting down? Doesn't seem especially newswothy.

Comments where to censor and silence both, thought and the nastiness.
Ya answers shutting down has been a long time coming. The last 5 years to a decade has been primarily trolls on here anyways. Trolls don't tend to attract advertising dollars. Advertising dollars drive places like this, drive pretty much everything on "free" social platforms.

For quite a while it hasn't been a quality and helpful question and answer site. I think this place started its slow downward spiral when Marissa Mayer took over in 2012. For over a year now it's just gotten worse.

Tik Tok is gettting MILLIONS of hits per video.
You can't even get a dozen answers to a question here anymore.
The site has been dead for ages. They're just finally giving up the ghost.

No one really knows but new laws are coming that will hold websites responsible - $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$- for unacceptable questions /answers ( racism., porn, slander etc..if not dealt with immediately. I suspect that is the reason.
