Advice needed?

Hello I have a friend who has a son. The child's mother took the son and possibly left the country. With no point of contact. He is going into depression mode missing his son and not knowing if he's ok during this covid. His son is around 3yrs old. But its been over a year he hasn't been able to make contact and the child's mother doesn't want to be reached. Family and friends is not telling him anything. What should I advise. Is there a way to know where she is with his son?

A common way to track someone down is by running doing a credit check on them.  Of course your friend could also hire a private detective too.  Too bad your friend wasn't concerned with his son earlier, if he had he might have established paternity and shared legal custody.

This sounds like a legal matter.  Unless the mother has sole custody of the son, she is breaking the law.  I suggest contacting a lawyer familiar with family matters.  Initial consultations are often given for free.
