How can African-Americans be African if most of them never set one foot in Africa?

Well we not Americans so whatchu wanna label us?

No Magui if we was American there'd be no problem.  Americans have full civil rights.  Americans are served and protected by the police force.  Americans get justice in the courtroom.  Crimes that Americans get 10 years for, my people get given 25.  Americans get paid for they labor and if not they can take it to court and the court will make sure they get paid, my people can't get money they owed for 310 years of unpaid labor and there's no court willing to hear the case.

Them people have no link to Africa. They don't eat as Africans do. Black American Christians eat Pork, African Christians do not. Most Black Americans for decades refused to acknowledge their people came from Africa. Black Americans are still our Slaves. They don't read, they hate each other, they make babies without getting married, they embrace Prison over University. 

Every type of American except White people seems to prefer a label telling of their ethnic background instead of just the label “American”.

It's a matter of pride.  Like Italian Americans.  German Americans. It really has no meaning.

They’re American born Africans, because of their ancestry, so they’re both American and African, that’s their race.  

Sure, I mean it isn't like white Americans ever refer to themselves as Italian or Irish, yet have never been to Italy or Ireland. Oh wait, they do. 

They're Americans of African descent. It refers to their genetic and ancestral background

It just refers to their ancestry. The only true African American is one who moves do the US from an African country.

Because their ancestors were forcibly taken from Africa, and it is where they are rooted genetically.
