What good would pleading the 5th do when Jury could find other reasons find him guilty?

Update:

Generally, guilty people plead the 5th.

Update 2:

I mean, if i was a jury in support of the defendant and he pleads the fifth.. in the back of my mind i'm thinking " I still want to hear the defendant's side of his reasoning" Even if he doesn't give it and i'm not allowed to use that evidence of guilt... I'm thinking "hmm, maybe I should reconsider"

Update 3:

I believe the prosecutor has already proven Chauvin's guilt. If I was a jury, I'd find him guilty. There's more than sufficient evidence that this was murder. So whether he pleads the 5th or not.

Sure, they can find him guilty for other reasons.

So what? Under our laws, the STATE has to prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. The defendant is not required to help them prove it.

When you plead the 5th what you're really saying is, "anything I say will prove I'm guilty".
