is my friend in trouble for his actions?

my friend works at a firm and he was hanging out with one of the employees, they became friends and in the end didn't workout and he told her she was a bit*ch for always seeing other guys and she was a sl*t etc he never wants to deal with her again, to the point that he wanted out of the company and the girl showed his boss his text messages insulting her

now they work away from each other and don't communicate but still for the same company. is my friend in trouble? is my boss in trouble?

Update:

I meant is HIS boss in trouble for not doing anything but separating them

It shouldn’t matter if he quits.

If they’re only friends, why is he mad that she hangs out with other guys. It’s really none of his business.

It might depend on when he sent those texts. If it’s during work hours, he’s in trouble. If it’s after work then he might be safe.

In reality, they’re both in trouble and will get fired because most work places have a rule that says you’re not allowed to date coworkers. It’s this reason why it was put into place. They don’t want problems to extend to work.

We need some clarification on a few things

    1. Is your friend your boss?

    2. What is the definition of "hanging out"

    3. Does your friend classify himself as a "nice guy"?

    Hope you respond soon.
