How long would you wait for a response ?

I’m in a LDR with my bf of 5 years. He’s pretty good at answering during the day but sometimes I’ll call pretty late at night to pillow talk ;) and he won’t answer but based on his normal schedule he usually goes to bed at 2am. So I’m almost 100% sure he’s not asleep when I call at 11pm his time. Again he doesn’t ignore often so when he does naturally I start to worry but I like to give him time to respond before I freak out. What would you say would be a reasonable time span? I texted him at 11pm his time and then called him at 12am his time and it is now 9am his time so logically I’m sure he saw the call. I’ve never witnessed him not check his phone for 10 hours straight, even through the night. Sorry if I come off a little ballistic but LDR can make you that way lol

Update:

You’re only assuming.. you don’t even know if he has friends where he is. You’re part of the reason Yahoo answers is being deleted because a lot of people on this platform don’t know how to be sympathetic or answer the question that is being asked at hand. Also I have a personal life. So that’s not the issue. Learn better comprehension skills.

Update 2:

It does have to do with both the quality of the questions and the answers.

Update 3:

I’m grateful for the ONE well thought out answer I received. And of course the well thought out answers on Reddit. Again the other two answers are only assumptions. Next time you should just answer the question at hand. Thanks but no thanks ;)

I’d wait for as long as it took for him to respond. A long distance relationship doesn’t have to make people insecure, and most people in a five year relationship have the confidence in each other and the relationship to not freak out about an occasional delay in a response. Have you ever considered that maybe he just doesn’t want to talk to you when you call? Or maybe he’s in the middle of an online gaming session and doesn’t want to be interrupted. Heck, maybe he’s still asleep at 9am on a Sunday and actually hasn’t seen the message and call. But personally I wouldn’t freak out about it at all.

Two answers are almost identical but you view one as "well thought out"?

When Verizon purchased Yahoo! about 5 years ago, they announced that they would not be in the social media business.  Y!A closing dates back to that and doesn't have to do with the actually content.  Just like Reddit doesn't stay open for the actual content.

Why anyone would support Reddit, got me?  The founder says people should be hired based on the color of their skin.  That's unfortunate that he didn't think certain people (including his wife) are able to achieve based on their capabilities.

LDR does not make people act like you do.

I'd guess you act like this because you are insecure in this relationship.

Why did you text at 11pm and call at 12pm?  That comes off really needy.

We have no idea when the last time you interacted with him before 11pm.

So what if he saw your text/call.  Does he need to respond immediately?  I don't think so.

You have given us no context to determine what is reasonable.  But if you don't hear from him by 11pm tonight, then you may have cause for concern.  Allow him to be the initiator sometimes.

Yahoo! Answers is being deleted because Verizon Communications, the parent company got what they needed from it.  All these user accounts.  And it no longer makes sense to keep the old equipment functional.  And would rather have the workers dedicated to Y!A work on something more beneficial.

It has nothing to do with the quality of the answers.

He is out with his real life friends.  Find someone you can relate to face to face.
