American atheists, what's it like to live in America?

Do you come across Christian nonsense on a daily basis.

Thanks

El Nerdo Loco:  Even sitting on the fence only encourages Christian nonsense. Time to make a stand, life is short. :)

If you scan radio stations in the car, you get them, If you check the mail you get them. If you watch TV, you get the Christian "miracle water" salesman, that they won't deny. Covid stopped the door knockers, thank goodness. Yeah, it's never ending.

Yes, Christians blast their religion in everyone's faces all the time.  if someone objects, they start crying about how persecuted they are.  The poor persecuted babies are horrified that they have to share a country with a few unbelievers. It offends them terribly, so they plan ways to turn the US into a theocracy.

It's ok, you may not notice if you don't consume any media whatsoever.

It can be frustrating if you find that government policies are put forth by faith based lobbying groups.

Atheism is a horrible sin against God.  It is very, very wrong to claim God does not exist.  Jesus exists and is God.  He is the Second Person of the Divine Trinity.  The Trinity consists of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.  Jesus is the Word Made Flesh, Our Savior and Our Redeemer.  He is Our Messiah, Victim-High Priest, True Prophet and Sovereign King.

I live in a city in a Bible-belt area.  I've never had any trouble with religious people.  There have always been plenty of non-religious people around.  Most Christians never talk about their religion.  Maybe they find it boring or too stupid to talk about.

It's fine, living in America.  One is confronted with Christian assumptions that their religion is an intrinsic institution within the nation and the society about once a week...unless one listens to political or religious broadcasts or "news", in which case one encounters it more frequently.  It's good for one's peace of mind to not become too sensitive about it, nor to go looking for it (because it's not hard to find, and becoming sensitive only makes it hard to ignore).

(If one is in the habit of discussing politics or religion with one's close acquaintances, one will encounter such assumptions much more often...but that's sort of a self-inflicted wound.)

When in America I drive past 20 or 30-meter-high crosses about once or twice a day if I'm traveling, and see them regularly on billboards and other displays - and I wonder "What if I put up a giant Star of David, or a Crescent Moon?  Wouldn't they consider that unacceptably provocative?"  Of course they would.  There would be complaints, and lawsuits, and politicians and talk radio hosts trying to make hay out of it.

But...oh well, it's America...where there IS no official, state-sanctioned religion, yes?  I don't actually mind.  I don't need them to make sense all the time.  It's still a nice place to live.

Fortunately I live in a very progressive, modern and liberally-minded area with very few fundamentalists or extremist Christians. So I very seldom come across much Christian nonsense. How about you, wherever you live?

    It’s fantastic.

Even though I weigh over 400 pounds, I am the skinniest person in my community and my nickname is “Slim”.
