Global Warming Regulars:  How will you spend the time that, until now, you spent asking and answering questions here?

For better or worse, we will all have extra time available from tomorrow.  What will you do with it?

Find another site and carry on crusading in some way?

Or perhaps you have learnt everything you needed here and are ready to move on to pastures new.

Perhaps, like me, you will be glad to be free of the distraction for a while.  I will miss this place and I'll miss the people such as David, Dirac, Elizabeth, Koshka, AI P, antarcticice, FSM, too many to list; indeed anyone who has been accused of being Dirac!  Thanks guys; I really appreciate what you've done.

I like to think I will be back somewhere, someday, making whatever contribution I can, but for the present, I need to focus on life in the real world.  Retirement beckons and then I'll have the time ...

Thanks Koshka; I will do those things.  Quora sounds good, though I must show some discipline and hold back for now; too much going on in realityville!  Sad to hear about Climate Realist; you do wonder what has happened when people just fade away.  Rumors are that Kano has also gone.  I did like him, even though he was a "skeptic", he was sincere in his skepticism and genuinely willing to learn.

PA; Paul's alias? Another excellent contributor, ...

Updated 6 days ago:

... though not someone you want to get on the wrong side of, intellectually speaking, as I did on a couple of occasions. :-(

Wishing you all the best too; I'm sure our paths will cross again some day.  Xx

Yahoo Joker; it's your fantasy, not mine.  Granted, only Dirac and myself can be 100% sure, but most people would use Occam's Razor and conclude, in the absence of ANY contrary evidence, that we are all separate individuals.

Anyway, though you may pursue your fantasy to the bitter end, none of it will matter tomorrow.  I wish you well and hope you are able to sort your life out.  Honestly, you CAN have a life in the real world, but it's down to YOU to to take those first steps.

Thanks Dirac, David and FSM; I'm out of time now and must get to bed.  Have to be up for work in 4 hours.  One way or another, I'll be in touch.

Thanks everyone; It's been fun.

I'll spend some of that time thinking about what a reasonable contributor you

have been Darwinist. Please take care my friend and have fun!

My aim was to improve my English and it is good enough now for my purposes.

I started in religion, but my fellow atheist were just too obnoxious and while some "Christians" there deserved everything they got, the majority didn't.

I came here, first as "Prico" later as FSM as a way to make fun of the young earth creationists.  (Especially the obnoxious liars like Sagebrush who deserved to be made fun of)   Most of the time I would let them be unless they brought religion onto the debate.

Kano blocked me, so I used other accounts I had set up as spam traps, and started posting anonymously.

I have learned quite a bit about the mindset of the deniers, some like Jim Z motives are a fear/hate of communism, Kano because he spend his lifetime working in coal plants and was quite proud of that (as he should be) Sagebrush on the other hand was just a bully, who would attack whenever his belief in his version god was challenged.  Even AWG challenged that belief because it is science...

They were all funny in their own way but YA was more of a preview of the late night comedy shows.  Too predictable.

As for what I will do now, I have a bathroom that needs remodeling, an old shed to remove, a garden to plant,a pergola to build, a swimming pool that needs  some serious maintenance, solar panels and batteries to install, some rewiring of essential loads, automating some of the things connected.  Installing a hot tub to dump the exes solar into.  And I want to go fishing 4 - 5 days a week.  (I doubt I will be able to)

This place was mostly a way for me to learn English, some light comedy (denial of science is funny to me) and trying to understand why people believe in nonsense.    Democrats are not immune, why should they be, no one is perfect.  Republicans attack the messenger, for example they like to make fun of All Gore or more recently, AOC, but when you compare her with MTG, AOC looks like a genius in comparison.

And the best of luck to you, you are a gentle soul and I have always enjoyed your posts.

    EDIT:

Sorry to hear about climate realist, that guy was really smart and a real Christian.

<<Find another site and carry on crusading in some way?>>

Oh jeez, please no! Lol. It was fun at times but it's hard to see this place as anything other than a time waster. I doubt I spent more than 20 minutes a day here actually posting but like with many of you it's going to be a bit of a habit to break, so I guess it's nice we have no choice.

The time will be well spent focusing on my main job, my side job, the house we're trying to buy, and my toddler son. As well as putting sporadic updates onto climateobserved.org, but that hasn't been much more than uploading select papers I get from Skeptical Science weekly research list, so just 15 minutes a week or so. Maybe I'll use the void from YA to do more with it, but for now just breathe the sigh of relief that the temptation to click the bookmark is gone, hah!

Also quarantine has let me discover the excellent world of British TV comedy series (thanks Netflix), and a new hobby of mycology including foraging for local edible fungi, so I'll probably nerd out on that more too. I'm not even a huge fan of mushrooms in a culinary sense but it's been a really fascinating process to learn about the different types and there is definitely a bit of a rush to find a large patch of chanterelles that no one knows about.

Anyway, all the best to you Darwinist, always enjoyed your questions the most. Send me a note at climateobserved sometime, I check that email about once a week.

Dirac, Koshka, and Darwinist are the same person.  Moon is right.  This clown is desperately trying to convince someone--anyone--that he never had socks.  But, at this point, he is basically talking to himself.

Well, for the next month and a half or so I will be studying for my exam in Econometrics through the London School of Economics. After that, it's back to trying to teach myself quantum field theory.

LOL, I was about to ask a similar question sweetie. I'm on Quora, so PA2. The late Climate Realist was also on. May he RIP

Quora is not the same, but the good thing is you have to use your real name, so trolls are few. And it is extremely moderated. There is a climate category which I don't use. I go there 3-4 times per week, to read and comment mostly.

Email Dirac if you want my email adress or to find me there Dirac is there but inactive, PA's in my contacts under his real name, and he's hillarious as always but still provides good physics answers with his unique lack of diplomacy but humorous side.

Take good care of yourself and your loved ones, I hope our paths cross again.

    xx

    From Koshka with Love!

PS: Paul is a sweetheart when you get to know him. He's just diplomatically challenged. He is quite funny and a nice person. He,s just different. About CR, he passed in 2019 (october if I recall correctly) I looked up his pastor on FB and apparently he passed of natural causes but he hired a private investigater, (whatever ''natural causes'' means).  CR was such a nice person, he let a schizophrenic live with him, she had no place to go. He was like close to 60 when he passed away. It made me sad. He also was an excellent contributor.

BTW, you were an excellent contributor here.

The only problem with you citing "David, Dirac, Koshka, AIP, antarcticice, FSM, too many to list" is you're all those people.

Dirac, you are truly pitiful.  You are still trying in vain to convince everyone of the fantasy you built here.
