  • Rj568a vs rj568b?

    My question is this... if orange and orange white are 1 twisted pair and green and green white are a 2nd twisted pair... and the wire is all the same inside the sheathing... and all of those 4 twisted pairs are in turn twisted quads of pairs... why the hell does it matter if you do a or b... how would ANY device ever know the difference? What exactly makes one different? Countless websites say b is standard but a is superior and reverse compatible to whatever... but its o ly plastic changing! This is driving me nuts... both are straight pinned... how does it matter green or orange as long as both ends are the same?

  • Photoshop multipass eraser?

    Is there a way in photoshop to continually erase without letting go of the left mouse button. When I move left then right then left again I would like to keep erasing the same spot without releasing the mouse button.

  • 7 pin trailer hookup question?

    I am using the 12v aux power and the ground for a backup camera. But I want a way to make the camera ON all the time. It is a wireless camera, and the only 2 power sources are for the 2 pieces. I am not understanding HOW the device knows when I am in reverse, and how to override that feature so the camera is always on. I tested the 12v aux while the car was in park, and it had power, so I know I have the correct wire, but somehow the camera knows when the car is in reverse. How?

  • Does anyone make a MAME selection tool for a PC?

    I am looking for a program I can install into a PC that would load at boot and bring up a MAME select screen where I can dedicate this PC to MAME use, and just use the controller to select a game to play, and hopefully also dedicate a button to return to the selct menu from inside the game once selected... building a home cabinet. Maybe a whole OS and not use windows at all? What do you suggest?

  • Why do people make YouTube videos with Spider-Man, Elsa, Hulk, and Joker as the characters?

    This just seems like a trend currently that I don t get. Most are really horrid and not well written or filmed at all. Why is this "fetch" becoming a thing. It shouldn t be a thing. How cam it be stopped before it gets worse?

  • Where can I find stainless steel shower parts that don t include crap ABS parts?

    No matter what I search for it s all ABS which apparently is a fancy word for shitty plastic. There should be laws against calling that crap a "metal finish"

  • Is there a way in Adobe Indesign to modify the stroke of a line to increase over the length of the line?

    like a stroke weight gradient? I am trying to simulate a forced perspective on a curved line. Similar to a winding road coming closer towards your point of view.

  • What is the process for baking chicken in some type of white powder shell?

    I recently saw a YouTube video where a man was covering a chicken stuffed with rice in a dish full of some white powder. He then covered the top of the chicken with the same. After baking the white powder became a shell (it was on fire but possibly only for presentation). They cracked it with a chisel and mallet. What was that?

  • Is there software that tracks changes made to the hard drive?

    I have a program that resides in the "Program Files (x86)" however I suspect it also has a hidden folder someplace because when I uninstall it (its a database) and then reinstall it, all the old database info is also back on a clean install unless I format the HD and reinstall windows also. I was hoping there is a program that I can install, then install this program, and have a comparison of the hard drive both before and after (including hidden folders and files) in order to see where this program actually resides. (also, somehow it knows on a fresh install not to overwrite this hidden location.)

    Thanks

  • Anything free and decent since AVG sucks with "zen?"?

    I was a long time AVG user, I used to donate regularly when they were freeware and had online donations. Now the addition of "Zen" is getting harder and harder to avoid, and it sucks ***... so... anyone know the new up and coming freeware antivirus out there that is doing now what AVG used to before they sold out?

  • Why is TELEMARKETING a thing?

    This is an honest question, as I fail to understand how this method is a viable marketing strategy? Why pay countless people to cold call when in most cases it fails to make a sale and just makes your company appear desperate for work? Think of it this way. If you were shot in the foot, you would not wait for a Doctor to call you and ask if you needed a bullet removed. You take the initiative and call the doctor. If I want SOLAR PANELS, FINANCING, or a TRIP TO JAMAICA... would I not take the initiative to make that happen? Is the money spent on these employees making calls really warranted? Does it really turn enough of a profit from these calls to justify making them? Anyone with info please let me know (plz answer here --- don t call me to tell me all about how lucrative it is... lol)

  • Is there a way to embed one HTML file into another HTML file?

    Let s say I make a segment of HTML (with or without a header, whatever I need to do to make this work.)

    <div>

    <p> This is it. </p>

    </div>

    and I save that as "inserted.html"

    could I then have another file "index.html" (the outlying text is irreverent here, only added for aesthetics)

    <Doctype HTML><html><body>

    <embed src="inserted.html">

    </body></html>

    or something like this... I am using this to give you a general idea of my purpose. Essentially I want to create a menu on many pages, and connect it to a seperate html code that I can easily change and automatically update all the child pages.

    Hope this makes sense. Thank you for your answers.

  • can I include external html code into my index.html?

    essentially (shorthand)

    ----------------------------------------------------

    INDEX.HTML

    ----------------------------------------------------

    <html>

    <body>

    <h1>Text example 1</h1>

    <p>Here is a list that will change daily on many pages.</p>

    <!-- This is the syntax I am searching for. I need to repeatedly change this section on multiple pages -->

    <??>insert.html</??>

    </body>

    </html>

    ----------------------------------------------------

    INSERT.HTML (or maybe even just TXT?)

    ----------------------------------------------------

    <!-- Even though I used them here, I am guessing no body or html tags as I dont want to insert them into the code above?? Not sure, I just want this code to embed or patch into the index at the proposed spot somehow, so I can open only this file and make edits and instantly update the other pages all at once. -->

    <html>

    <body>

    <ul>

    <li><p>item 1</p></li>

    <li><p>item 1</p></li>

    <li><p>item 1</p></li>

    </ul>

    </body>

    </html>

  • In EXCEL, how can I use the "=" command, to ALSO bring in the format code used for a cell?

    in other words...

    Using format codes for the cell...

    A1=05

    A2=0005

    B1=4

    B2=if(b1=4;A2;A1)

    both results make B2=5

    I need it to also return the correct number of characters by replicated the original cell exactly.

    Is there an Algorithm for calculating the drawn distance between equally spaced lines?

    Drawing a perspective checkered floor, is there a formula to calculate the drawn distance (for example 1 ft.) as it descends down the perspective line. Say we assume viewing the first tile the 1 ft. actual spans 8 inches, as projected on tho the 2 dimensional paper, how "tall" should the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. tiles be respectively?

  • Why is it illegal to kill a wild, stray, un-collared cat when it comes into my yard and is in the act of attacking my miniature dog?

    PLEASE dont take this question the wrong way. Most days I am a true animal lover. But I am also a realist. The laws i have researched have stated that a wild animal attacking livestock can be terminated "as quick and humane as possible" but cats are exempt for some unwritten reason. I don't find any real LAWS saying wild stray cats are pets or endangered or anything that would warrant them being exempt from this. Pets are property just like livestock, and cats without owners are a nuisance, and in need of population control. Why do the bleeding heart liberals push for this ideal, and why isn't this "rule" written more clearly into the laws if it is true at all? (In Central New York State)

  • How do I change the desktop change intervals in Windows 10?

    I have about 26 different background images that used to cycle randomly every 5 mins. After upgrading to windows 10, I can still right click on the desktop and choose NEXT DESKTOP IMAGE, but the automatic and random change seems to be gone. When i go to display options, I dont see anything to choose the time interval between changes like I used to in Windows 7. Anyone know if and where those setting are located now?

    Thanks

  • Do I have these Physics properties correct?

    In simplest physics terms (not accounting for friction or minor loss) assuming total energy transfer... a 100 gram ball moving at 4 mph striking a stationary ball 25 grams.

    Would the small ball move at 16mph after collision? (4x faster becasue 1/4 mass?)

    or

    would it move at the maximum 4mph and the added energy would remain in the larger ball?

    Thank you all.
