Why is it illegal to kill a wild, stray, un-collared cat when it comes into my yard and is in the act of attacking my miniature dog?
PLEASE dont take this question the wrong way. Most days I am a true animal lover. But I am also a realist. The laws i have researched have stated that a wild animal attacking livestock can be terminated "as quick and humane as possible" but cats are exempt for some unwritten reason. I don't find any real LAWS saying wild stray cats are pets or endangered or anything that would warrant them being exempt from this. Pets are property just like livestock, and cats without owners are a nuisance, and in need of population control. Why do the bleeding heart liberals push for this ideal, and why isn't this "rule" written more clearly into the laws if it is true at all? (In Central New York State)

Unfortunately too many people allow their cats outside. It is doubtful that a cat without a collar is wild or a stray unless it looks emaciated and in poor shape. There is NO REASON to kill the cat - just shoo it away. What is the matter with you? It doesn't say much for your character as a person. ALL children and animals deserve to be treated well. How we treat the most vulnerable in our society says a lot about our society.

Why on earth would your first resort be to kill the poor thing? only pathetic people solve their problems by just killing things. if your mini dog wandered into my yard ,do you think you would care if I shot it?
