  • Congrats to liberals and Owebama.?

I just noticed that now over 48,001,100 are on foodstamps.

I just wanted to acknowledge to Owebama and other liberals the success your efforts to mend the economy have had on the numbers of welfare cases in our once proud country.

    Just another liberal milestone!!

    Stupid is as stupid does!!

  • disability benefits epidemic in America?

Opinions concerning the government awarding lifetime disability benefits for less than disabling conditions.

With 11,000,000 newly "disabled" under Owebama's liberal administration, how disabled are these folks? Certainly, there are some, but 11,000,000?? Does the entitled realize that it takes 2-3 workers, paying taxes to support just one person who claims they cannot do any sort of work ? That takes 22 to 33 million workers to support the lifestyle they seem to strive for.

Some, not all, of those seem to have the entitlement mentality that the government owes them a living.. What will happen when there are more disabled then actually working? This scenario is not too far fetched. Judith seems happy to see that everyone gets benefits, paid for by others. Would she also acknowledge that this rush to disability entitlements is not sustainable. We are creating a dependency that will be very hard, if not impossible to wean off when the money runs out.

    Your thoughts??

  • Health care providers only, please?

I am a provider myself, for the past 39 years.

I am curious as to how many of you will continue to work in the health care field with the aspects of Owebama Care bringing in the possibility that you will see twice as many patients, in half the time, for half the pay. The same standards of care will be expected, with no relief of legal actions against you.

Are you going to stay in the health care field, or will you consider leaving?? Just how will you adapt to this situation?

Lucky for me, I am in a position to retire and leave this mess to the rest of the poor providers to deal with it all.

  • It is the spending, stupid!?

I would appreciate your comments concerning the $16,400,000,000,000 debt we carry.

I do agree with the higher tax rates on the wealthy, but also feel that spending cuts and entitlement reforms are critical to getting our economy back on steady footing.

Please, your comments on these points. Why you think so and why you do not.

  • Tricare insurance for kids under 26.?

Has anyone with Tricare insurance found out why our kids, under the age of 26, are not able to be added to our insurance coverage as the government has required the other insurance carriers to do??

When I look up the eligibitiy, it will sell them a policy rider for about $120/month, but I am not able to include them as most other health carriers are required by the government.

Could it be the government is making a rule for other's that they themselves do not follow?? That would be my guess. Anyone else found this to be true??

  • ethical acceptance of VA welfare?

Interested in hearing your opinions on this.

If I served in the military, retired after 20+ years and then applied to the VA for compensation for medical issues that had been active over the years. If I was awarded 60% disability for problems that were now resolved and not affecting my health, would it be ethical for me to take that money?? It is money paid by other tax payers, it is given to me for medical issues that are not affecting my health.

Would you think that those with an entitlement mentality would accept this money, being paid every month, for a non-active medical condition??

As I consider myself a patriot, love my country and served with honor, would this taking of others tax money be an honest thing to do?? I do think that entitlements are a huge drain on this country and accepting money that is not really yours for a non-issue constitutes fraud.

    What do you think??

  • Security clearance for admitted drug use.?

For all of us who have security clearances. After going thru the process of secret, let alone TSBI and others.

Who would expect to receive a clearance like this after admitting to extensive drug abuse, alcohol abuse and such while in high school and college??

This was admitted freely and is well documented.

I would never expect to be granted a clearance on this information. Yet.....we have a commander in chief that has done this and is now in charge of the rest of us poor slobs who are held to a higher standard than the Commander in Chief.

Seems like the press has given him a free pass on this. How sad for our country.

  • What is the best option for hurricane shutters in South florida?

As a new resident, I want to fit the home with appropriate hurricane shutters. Do I need to do the south and west facing windows, or all of them. Which product will work best, at a fair cost? I see the roll down as very nice (but expensive), the aluminum panels to be placed into brackets and bolted together seem to be the least expensive. The others should be considered, but I was hoping for some input from those who have shutters and are able to give an experienced opinion.

  • moving van to move household goods across the country?

What is the average cost for moving household goods across the country?? I am looking for an estimate of cost to move 5000 lbs a total of 1500 miles. I have one quote for $0.52/lb.

This price includes loading/unloading transportation and fuel costs, all labor. Does this sound competitive? Where would you go to look for independent truckers to make such a move?

  • Legal residence Tax question?

As I near retirement, I wish to borrow $50k from my 401K, and close on a residence in Florida. About 10 days later, I will be retiring from the full time job in Wisconsin. As the amount to be repaid is then able to be removed from my 401K without the 10% penalty, can I also reclaim a new state of primary residence during this 10 day period after closing, and avoid the normal amount of state tax that will be due on the amount I draw from the 401K to repay the short term "loan". This is my plan. Is it a legal thing to do??

  • adhesive for cultured stone?

I am to apply approx. 60 sq. ft of cultured stone on a new fireplace. The frame is 2X4, with 1/2 inch plywood. I do not want to use the standard mesh w/ mortar. I want to use some of the upper grade adhesives. (PL premium) I may be able to actually remove the panel, apply the stone w/ adhesive, let it dry, then lift w/ help and screw back into the 2X4 frame with coated screws. Anyone offer advice of this way of application??

  • Beautiful, half-finished building on mile marker 72, florida keys?

Can anyone tell me about the half-built estate along the mid-keys, at mile marker 72??

It is the concrete walls, no windows and roof trusses that look like they are about 2 years old. The sea wall is in, but there is no sign of this building being worked on to be finished someday. It is a gorgeous spot. I cannot imagine it being not ever finished to live in. Any locals to enlighten me??

  • E-readers with back lighted screen?

Can someone tell me if these E-readers, like Kindle, have a backlit screen for reading in the dark.

None of the various types has any information if this screen is visible in a dark room, or if there is already a lighted screen that would preclude the need for this feature
