An old friend of my husbands moved in with us last week. To his credit, he is a hard worker and is looking for a job but he's not the sort that people are going to be eager to hire.

He doesn't shower as often as he should, his clothes are raggedy, he's quit school in 9th grade and rambles when he talks so it's hard to follow.

Some have said we should just kick him out but he truly has nowhere else to go. He will be homeless if he leaves here and then he'll have a harder time finding work and will most likely never get off the streets.

I want to try to help him but I absolutely hate him living here. Home is my sanctuary from the world and it's been invaded!! He's a nice guy and honestly I wouldn't want anyone to be homeless if I could help them. But I just don't know how long I can go on with this. When I think of 4-6 months from now and he's still here I want to run screaming into the night. 4-6 weeks is horrible enough.

I know I'm not SUPPOSED to drive after being under anesthetic for oral surgery but is it really THAT big of a deal?

The fumes off of this thing make me cough and choke like crazy. Any tips on keeping this from happening?

NE - 2-3 ft of snow closes down roads, businesses, public transit, etc.

NW - 2-3 ft of snow has never in my memory closed down roads. Sometimes the Uni will close but the only time my schools shut down when I was a kid was one time when there was a water main break. Buses and trains run, they might be slower but they run.

I don't understand why there's such a difference.

My husband is a truck driver and would like to be able to watch the videos and stuff that he plays on the tablet on the tv.

I don't believe a Chromecast or anything like that will work in this situation because the only internet he has is the tablet as a hotspot.

I got an HDMI to mini USB cable to connect the two but when I switch the tv to the HDMI source It says there's no connection. What else do I need to do to make this work?

Had a plumber out the other day to fix a leaky fitting on a small hose. He started trying to upsell me to other things we 'must have'. One was a water pressure regulator. He tested at the outdoor faucet and it was 100 psi. He said we'll have all kinds of problems if we don't get one but I just read another answer that said you only really need one if you have a well. We've been in this house for 15+ years and we have had leaks but nothing extraordinary.

I got a bluray player with surround sound for my birthday but when I hooked it up it only plays on the surround sound speakers when I'm playing discs or online with the bluray player. I thought it should work with just the tv too.
