What would happen if the Spurs decided to fire Greg Popovich?
Obviously a hypothetical question, but if they did, how many other NBA franchises would try to convince him to come and coach their team. Or let s make it a shorter list... how many teams would decide that they would rather keep their current head coach?
6 AnswersBasketball3 years agoSide Judges hat?
This is video from LAC-NE week 8, where the Chargers Travis Benjamin fields a punt and then retreats into his own end zone, where he's tackled for a safety.

A boneheaded play, but that's not what I'm curious about. It appears that the Side Judge has tossed his hat down on the field between the 8 and 9 yard line. Presumably he's marking something, but what? It appears that he tossed his hat down while the ball was still in the air.

6 AnswersBasketball7 years agoOkay, this stat is simply amazing!?
Courtesy of ESPN stats and info:
Spurs are 3-2 in last 2 postseasons in games in which they were down by 18+ points.
Rest of NBA is 3-61 over last 2 postseasons

And why in the world would you put that in a book?
2 AnswersBasketball8 years agoWill T-Mac play tonight?
He's in uniform and on the Spurs bench. Spurs are leading big at halftime and it looks like the Lakers have already checked out. Do you think Pop will put McGrady in and let him get exposed to NBA basketball again?
3 AnswersBasketball8 years agoNeed to test an internet connection for reliability?
I need to run some tests on my parents DSL connection. From what I can tell, devices connecting to the Internet through their router lose their connection approximately every 10 minutes. The connection stays down for 30 seconds or so, then it's back to normal as if nothing had happened.
I'm going to call their ISP and talk to tech support, but before I do that I'd like to have a little more data about what exactly is going on. Ideally I'd like a program or something that I can run overnight, which will monitor their connection and record when it goes out and for how long. I did some checking with Google, but all of the internet testers I was able to find were simple speed tests, rather then the long-term reliability test I need. Any suggestions about where to look or other ideas I might try would be most appreciated.

Al Michaels is calling the Dal-Phi game, and he just said "..and it's so loud in here that the Eagles have to call a timeout."
And I stare at the TV, and the first thing I think of is "What... I thought they were playing in Dallas!'

I'm listening to the coverage of the OU-Texas game, and every item the announcers describe from the Midway is "deep fried". What does that mean?
4 AnswersCooking & Recipes9 years agoDid you know that today is an important day in NBA history?
It's the anniversary of Allen Iversons "practice" rant! Yep, on this day 10 years ago he went off in a post-season news conference after his Sixers lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Celtics.
Here's a full transcript of what he said.

It's absolutely brilliant. My favorite quote: "How in the hell can I make my teammates better by practicing?"
Anyway, feel free to share your own memories of this historic event.
10 AnswersBasketball9 years agoDid you hear about the new Dunk Contest rules?
Only one round now. No courtside judges. Instead fans will choose the winner, by voting on NBA.com or Twitter or Facebook.
Good idea? Or no?
5 AnswersBasketball9 years agoWant to know why Mark Cuban is a billionaire, and you're not?
You probably thought the Mavs got their championship rings back on Christmas day, when they opened the season against the Heat. Well, it turns out they didn't. They hoisted the banner, but no rings were handed out.
Instead, the Mavs have announced that the Championship Ring Ceremony will be held this Wednesday, before the Mavs host the Timberwolves. It's a middle of the week game against a boring opponent, but Cuban just made sure it'll be a sellout and probably draw some good TV ratings as well.
And of course JJ Barea will be in town with the TWolves, so he can get his ring and get some love from the fans.

1 AnswerBasketball1 decade agoLaker Fans: Has the way the Finals have played out made you feel better about your new head coach?
I heard a lot of Lakers fans calling the hiring of Mike Brown a huge mistake. One of their reasons for that opinion was the lack of success that Brown had in Cleveland, despite having arguably the MVP on his roster.
Now LeBron is in Miami, and with the bright lights and the pressure on him, he's playing even worse then he did with the Cavs. Is it possible that the problems in Cleveland were the fault of a flawed superstar, and not bad coaching? Or do you still think Brown in LA will be a disaster?
7 AnswersBasketball1 decade agoMcDonalds new drink promotion - prices?
McDonalds has a new promotion around here, and maybe all over the country, where you can get any size soft drink or sweet tea for $1.00. Since they specifically mention sweet tea, I'm going to assume that unsweet tea is excluded and costs the regular price. Does anyone know why?
