What would happen if the Spurs decided to fire Greg Popovich?

Obviously a hypothetical question, but if they did, how many other NBA franchises would try to convince him to come and coach their team. Or let s make it a shorter list... how many teams would decide that they would rather keep their current head coach?

Celtics. Ainge is happy with his coach.

Warriors. You don’t fire a guy who keeps winning.

Rockets. The team is built for D’Antoni style of play: fast. Pop doesn’t play that style.

Lakers. I think you let Walton grow with the young players. Didn’t Magic say he wanted to get players to build around Walton. I suppose if they got Pop then it might attract superstars who wants to play for Pop. LeBron seems to have lots of respect for him. Same for PG13.

Half the league offers him a coaching job, and the rest a GM job. His bball knowledge is off the charts.

I said hypothetical. That means we're assuming it can't really happen, but what if? So all you guys who said "The Spurs won't fire Pop!" well yeah. That's why we say "if".

Donnie gets BA, because he put some effort into his answer. I also think he's wrong, if the Lakers felt they had a chance to bring in Pop as their head coach, they'd dump Walton in a heartbeat. My opinion on teams that might keep their coach are the Mavs (Cuban is a loyal owner) and Heat (Spo knows the team better then anybody, and is a good coach). Thank you all for playing, and we'll be on to the medal round here presently.

The only way Pop is leaving is when he decides to retire.

They won't fire him so it's an invalid question.
