    global warming

but Mr Gore should practice what he preaches by turning off some of the lights in his big mansion and a little less flying around in private jets- maybe he could donate the millions he's making on his film and speeches to give homeowners the chance of AFFORDING solar panels for their homes-

But as long as he's making $ I doubt that will happen

Oh now not only has he claimed publicly that he invented the Internet. but now he's invented global warming. We have factually been in a cooling trend for 18 years. Plus most of the .6 degree C increase happened prior 1940. Yes and we are not even close not even close to the warming cycle between 1000 and 1500 ad and all didn't die, gee was that before the burning of fossil fuels yes and they grew some great crops up north is Europe, Siberia, Greenland thus the name began then how awful is that. Time will prove me correct. Sadie has hit it on the head whats behind Al Gore poor man and the global warming buzz go figure MONEY. and of course a large fragile ego.

In actual fact Gore DID "invent" the internet by pushing thru enabling legislation in Congress in the 1990s.

You think the internet just popped out Bill Gate's head?

first of all, Al Gore never stated he invented the internet.

<<GORE: Well, I will be offering - I'll be offering my vision when my campaign begins. And it will be comprehensive and sweeping. And I hope that it will be compelling enough to draw people toward it. I feel that it will be.

But it will emerge from my dialogue with the American people. I've traveled to every part of this country during the last six years. During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet. I took the initiative in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country's economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system.

During a quarter century of public service, including most of it long before I came into my current job, I have worked to try to improve the quality of life in our country and in our world. And what I've seen during that experience is an emerging future that's very exciting, about which I'm very optimistic, and toward which I want to lead.>>

second, how would you be able to tell he was lying about fearing global warming?

if he didn't fear it he sure wouldn't be going on and on and on about it.

you can claim he exploited it for profit, but all the proceeds from his movie went to environmental causes.

as far as the carbon credits, it promotes the economy to regulate its own emission rather than laws forcing it to do so.

this way all the people crying falsehoods that reducing emissions will destroy the economy, even though it will create jobs and boost the economy, don't have an argument. well shouldn't anyway, but they will always find a reason to hate any suggestion put forth by an environmentalist that says we need to do things differently.

not to mention most greenhouse gases can be utilized by other industries rather than dumped into the environment decreasing the cost of producing their product. win win win for the economy.

Invention of the internet. Fear of global warming is not a fib.

  • 1 decade ago

If Al Gore was really concerned about global warming, he would stop flying around the world trying to get people to invest in his carbon credits company and he would use less power in his many mansions. Whenever Al Gore opens his mouth he can't help but lie.

  • 1 decade ago

That's a toss up. Maybe it's actually that he's the one who's profiting off of global warming by selling those carbon credits, as well as his book and movie. Not to mention what he must get for speaking engagements. He's the ultimate entrepreneur; he scared people about something that's completely bogus, then he profited from it.

Everyone knows Al didn't invent the Internet. No designer or intelligence was necessary. The Internet evolved over millions of years from interactions of waves on silicon sand particles. More and more complex systems evolved by digital selection until one day - YAHOO!

I dunno, but they're both pretty absurd aren't they? HAHA!!! He invented the internet, my foot! If he invented the internet, then I invented the wheel.

But the problem with the global warming lie, is that it's about making big bucks for himself. He's trying to scare all of us by telling us that the low-lying nations are going to drown (there is no increase in sea-level beyond a few millimeters, and no sign of speeding up), and that the rest of us are going to be cooked (it has warmed one teeny degree in the last century.) So I guess only those of us who live for thousands of years are going to have to worry, but by then, the earth will probably have started cooling again.

I'm gonna say the global warming thing. Although he can't be given the only credit for it. He has hyped it up a notch. I don't think the guy is that smart really. He flunked out of seminary, how can you flunk God?
