Help with getting a book appraised?
Does anyone know of an appraiser who can value an original German book dating to Hitler's time? It is possible Nazi/Hitler propaganda but as it's completely in German and I don't know German, I can't tell. I need an appraiser located in Maryland.
Thanks!

You'll find the list at:

At this site http://md.allpages.com/baltimore/shopping-shopping... you'll find a bunch of rare book dealers which includes a book appraiser:

Go online and check with both Sothbey's and Christie's auction house websites. Also check with several rare booksellers in your area. Back East has some of the best rare booksellers in the Nation. Don't take the first offer either. Otherwise go to
alibris.com and put the book's name in and see if anyone else is selling the book and what the standard prices are. If you cannot find this book on this site, try bibliotec.com and do the same thing. Bibliotec.com handles over 10 million books.

The best is Bauman Rare Books. They advertise in the NY Times Book Section on Sundays. They also have a website. They can direct you. Pax - C
