How do I get the my videos folder back into my "my documents" folder?

I somehow deleted my "my videos" folder from my "my documents" folder and can't get it back. Anyone know how to get it back?

I'm guessing you're talking about the My Videos folder in Windows Media Center. This is a system folder and is usually found on the install disk. Couple of "non-invasive" things you can try. If you really deleted it, it might still be in the recycle bin. Right click the recycle bin icon > open. If you see the My Videos folder, right click it and you should get a restore option.

If the folder was hidden (rather than deleted) you might be able to do an advanced search. Click start > search > all files and folders. You'll search for My Videos and you'll look in C: Drive. Under more advanced options make sure you search in system folders, hidden files and folders, and subfolders. run the search and if the My Videos folder is found it will be in the right hand panel. You can drag and drop it in My Documents.

Since this is a folder that should be on the install disk, you could try System File Checker. Click start > run > type in "sfc /scannow" > OK (no quotes and notice the space between sfc and /scannow.) If the scan recognizes the My Video folder is missing, you'll be prompted to insert the install disk. It will then be repaired or replaced as needed. The scan could take over an hour.

There's two free utilities that might help. Copernic Desktop Search is more powerful than the built in Windows search tool. And the Recuva program might be able to find the My Videos folder on the hard drive, even if it was completely deleted.

And this Microsoft article might offer some additional help:
