Univerisity Major Engineering to music?

hello, I am currently in my second year of college studying electrical engineering as my major. I have a thing for music, i just love it, i am draw to listen to music whenever i can.

Is this just a 'wave' , that will soon pass, or is it enough reason to want to swith my Major to music, or something to do with acoustics? Please any advise will be appreciated.

I know a number of mathematicians and engineers who are outstanding musicians - mostly jazz. Do not give up on your love of music.

However, this is the real world. I really support the first answer who suggested that you look into acoustical engineering - very cool field and there are enough jobs out there. One difference is that I would discuss this with the head of your engineering department and also your favorite engineering professors.

An engineer can do music, but a musician cannot do engineering.

Unless you already have some good skills in playing an instrument or singing, a music major is probably not realistic.

However, if you want to become an acoustic engineer, you might find yourself in a fulfilling career. Why not make an appointment with your college's student career development office and ask them to help you explore your options? They could give you the one-on-one attention that Yahoo! answers sadly lacks.
