Causing physical sensations by thought?

Ok...this is going to sound really weird but I want to know if i'm not the only one who can do this.

I recently noticed that if I think of a certain sensation I can feel it in my calf muscles while being completely physically still. It's not pain, but almost like a tingling sensation that makes me want to move my legs around.

Is this a physical reaction to a thought or completely psychologically based? Also, can anyone else do this?

I'm sure with enough effort, most people can!

It depends what sensation you're specifying on. People can simply go nuts phyiscally over a sexual thought.

The mind can do alot for the body physically. For example: If you're about to get an injection. And you're thinking nonstop about how much its going to hurt and you're expecting the worst of it, the body may react that way! Chances are it will hurt more.

If you think of your arm itching, you'll get an itching sensation!

I'm sure ppl can have sexual sensations based on thought or visual stimulation so it is very possible that you are stimularing your calves by thinking of something....

I usually don't get that but sometimes if I think of something scary I get tense or a chill runs down my spine.
