Bigfoot hoax a law violation to sell stuff?

I have read the news about the alleged "Bigfoot" body and most believe it is a hoax. Isn't that against the law to carry on a scam like that and then give people the url to their website to buy his Bigfoot stuff?

It's not legitimate advertising and this hoax is going to lead them to many sales of merchandise for which they will reap the profit.

I was sure this is a violation of the law. Anyone know which law this violates?

Yes it is called fraud but it is very rarely prosecuted

In the broadest sense, a fraud is a deception made for personal gain. The specific legal definition varies by legal jurisdiction. Fraud is a crime, and is also a civil law violation. Many hoaxes are fraudulent, although those not made for personal gain are not technically frauds. Defrauding people of money is presumably the most common type of fraud, but there have also been many fraudulent "discoveries" in art, archaeology, and science.

They committed fraud when they led Tom Biscardi to believe they had a real bigfoot body and then took his money for the rights to it. Would the FBI investigate it and would a federal grand jury indicted these clowns? I hope so. Not because they took Biscardi's money, he duped a lot of people out of money with his bigfoot hoax a few years ago, but for the simple fact that no one should be that stupid and get away with it. They will probably try something else if they are not punished. My opinion....

Take those adult men, evaluate their an prolonged time, thinking the reality that they (declare) to have families. the completed cop/integrity-getting fired element, the glaring actuality that the CON replaced into destined to end.. I mean, i might in simple terms approximately experience like it made extra experience if that they had lifeless animal guts and epidermis and did a "Buffalo bill" job on the face with animal skins or some thing... then a minimum of it replaced right into a susceptible attempt at a fulfillment.. yet this? those dudes may well be from the broader open plains, definite, even somewhat bored, yet they weren't precisely a million/2 wit "Hoe-dad's".. They offered the form very genuinely, their performing skills on my own confirmed me sufficient administration and intelligence that i'm particularly damned lost in detecting the WHY'S and MOTIVATIONS to hardship with considered one of those lame hoax that the "Jackass" team might have performed as a quick video caricature, making extra info or maybe putting the hoax in an standard extra embraced place in history, the place those dudes could be up for criminal quotes, besides as ending up hated and focused and in basic terms being remembered in "stupid" history.. so I ask back, why... why.. why? the place's the earnings in working that annoying for the shaggy dog tale without "ha ha's" to appreciate?

I don't think there's any kind of law they are violating really. Maybe technically they are going against a rarely enforced law still on the books from the 1800's but mostly it's like UFO's. Who knows what is real and what is fake?

I would say it's misleading if not fraudulent, so I suppose 'fraud' or 'intent to defraud'
