Worsened period pain on Levlen ED?
I started taking Levlen ED three months ago to try to help with my heavy menstrual bleeding and abdominal pain. My GP said that it would work straight away. However, during these three months the pain has got worse! During the withdrawl bleed the pain is so bad that I cry and it's not reduced the amount of bleeding at all.
I can't make an appointment to see my doctor as she's really busy. Is worsened pain a side affect of taking this pill?

i've just started taking Levelen pills and haven't had any side affects yet, but again i've just started it.
the levelin pill has a very low dosage of oestrogen so that may be why it hasn't helped.
i've had very heavy periods since the beginning and i started having very painful periods when i was about 14.every doctor i went to, always said that it's normal and to just take strong pain killers. i was put on the pill by a doctor i saw and it didn't help the pain or the bleeding.
i recently got admitted to hospital due to extreme pain in my abdomen and after doing ultrasounds, they found that i had a mass 14cm x 7cm( 5.5" x 2.7") around my left ovary. i was admitted and had to have surgery last week to remove the mass. the condition that i've been diagnosed with is called Endometreosis, which happens in 1 in 5 women. it's a condition where the lining of the uterus ends up outside the uterus due to the blood going back in to the tubes during your period. it can cause alot of pain. extreme pain and heavy periods could be a symptom of this condition. if it's not treated, it can cause problems. Please go and see a doctor, if you cannot see your usual doctor, then just go to another doctor.make sure they send you to get an ultrasound. alot of people don't know of this condition and many doctors don't' even mention it to their patients.
