Question for English Union and league fans?

Is there still a class system in England?

Whenever anybody asks about the differences between union and league in this section it seems a bunch of uptight league supporters from (the north I think) england sneer about Union being for upper class ect. Is it still like the 1800's in England?

to a certain extent. But there are some Rugby (union) clubs that are just like are any other Rugby club. Like Northampton. I used to live there and it wasn't upper class. But the team did seem richer and more upper class, compered to the part of Northampton I lived in. Also people who are in the big comps come from Upper class, rich schools. I have loads of mates back in Northampton who play Rugby and they aren't upper class, but none of them play for Northampton. also, there is still a bit of a difference between the North and the South and the North is more league, and South, is more Union. So there is always going to be that difference

Sort of. Union is played all over England but the top players still generally come from the "posh" schools. Whereas League (and soccer) players generally come from the "common" schools. Union is certainly more upperclass than any other widely played sport in the UK.
