is it Safe to put a mature male in with a small turtle?

they are both red ear turtles but the male is huge about 25-30cm in size and our baby turtle is abut 10cm in size an about 6-8mths old. Is it safe to put them together the larger turtle was found on the road an im just looking after it till my cousin has sorted a tank etc . Thanks for you answers

wow you turtles are amasing I would like to make an outdoor pond for our turle plus get it a mate Im hoping that my cousin doesnt want the turtle back, my sons love them. thanks for you information and lovely photos.

    These guys can become cannibalistic and will kill the smallest turtle if there is not enough room and food. Two BABY turtles (not over 3” a piece) should have a 55 gallon tank to start.

    And my pictures don't lie. All ages and all sizes get along as long as their is allot for swim room and plenty to eat!

    Competition for food will be the main problem. Since the big guy is so much bigger, he will get most, if not all, the food.

    Also, he might mistake the little one as food.

    I wouldn't recommend putting them together.

    Well depends. if your pet turtle is in a bad attitude then it will kill it, also if it is the same sex(Boy boy or girl girl) Both will fight, No doubt. i hope this helped
