Question about Marines DEP?

Once I "enlist" in the DEP I have up to a year to actually enlist...does this mean I have 1 year to sign the papers or 1 year before I leave for basic? any infor you have on the DEP would be greatly appreciated!

Once you decide to enlist they will take you to sign a general enlistment contract into the USMC DEP.

At this point you are in the DEP and will be given a ship date. You now have to choose your job and then you will sign another contract beofre you leave with that MOS on it.

Many times you can sign for you job the first time you enlist, this is the best route.

If you enlist you do not have one year to do anything, they will give you a date that can be within a year.

You sign the papers then you wait in the Delayed Entry Program for up to 1 year before you go to Boot Camp

You first sign papers "contract" to get into dep. What you sign is to guarantee your job when you join unless you go open contract.
