Edward Rochester or Edward Cullen?

For me it's obviously Edward Rochester, but this will be very interesting to see the different answers.

Update:

I'm starting to love the fact that most of these answers are for Edward Rochester! :]

Update 2:

Zara Sahana ----> Yeah. I have to agree with you, but its still pretty amazing seeing Edward Rochester winning, even for this small moment in time.

Edward Rochester. He's not some cheesy wannabe who abuses and controls his partner. Rochester can make a girl swoon without the cheesy lines. He is passionate and deep, and his words are full of meaning. Edward Cullen is just a rip-off of Rochester.

Plus, most of the people who answer "Edward Cullen" don't even know Rochester.

EDIT: Zara - I also loved the gypsy scene! It was so weird and romantic. At first I just thought that it was a real gypsy but then as the gypsy talked more, I became suspicious. I was like, "Now who in this book talks like that, full of passion and fire in his voice?"

Edward Rochester for the win. He is way sexier, more passionate, actually flawed and so attractive (even though Bronte describes him as "not handsome"). I really love that guy. No way in hell can Cullen even touch the dust of Rochester.

And to anyone who answered Edward Cullen, there are only 3 things I can say. First, your taste in men is pathetic. Secondly, you probably haven't read or seen Jane Eyre, to know who Rochester is. Thirdly, Meyer openly admitted that Cullen was entirely based off Rochester--the name Edward was a tribute to Rochester. And despite ripping off Rochester, Meyer did a pathetic job with Cullen.

    @Magda,

I loved the gypsy scene so much.

    EDIT:

You know, Moni, it seems like only the people who know Jane Eyre and a few random Twilighters are answering this. If everybody on Y!A B&A answered this, you'd get a lot more Edward Cullens (unfortunately).

    EDIT:

You're right. It's nice to see a classical man win over a sparkly pansy just for once. I'll relish it while it lasts. The nice thing is that in a decade, Cullen will be forgotten, but Rochester will still be the timeless guy that he is.

You know what's funny? You know how Jane finds out that Rochester was married to Bertha and she was upset. Then Rochester offers to take her to southern France, away from Bertha. Because Jane has morals, she refuses and leaves. I probably would have taken him up on that offer and gone with him to be his mistress. LOL!

Edward Rochester without hesitation. His qualities are wonderful and he's clever. And although Jane describes him as unattractive, in my brain he has always been handsome.

Besides, even the SMeyer admitted that Edward Cullen was based on Mr. Rochester.

i do no longer even comprehend who this Rochester guy is via the fact i've got in no way had something to do with Jane Eyre. yet Edward Cullen is merely freakishly possessive, glints like a fairy and could no longer even drink human beings blood. Yeah, I hate Twilight. i do no longer think of i could incredibly choose for Rochester because of the fact he sounds bizarre. i will marry neither. Or i will marry them and divorce them if this is the only selection I incredibly have.

Edward Rochester. He's my favorite male character. He's intelligent and witty, and his personality is uniquely his own. That's a lot more than Edward Cullen can boast.

Rochester seemed quite sweet so yeah. Anyone's got to be better than that pathetic excuse for a character, Eddy Cullen.

Oh, bless you for asking this.

Edward Rochester, definitely. He's attractive (personality-wise) without being creepy and overbearing, like Eddy Cullen.
