Radiator fixed 2 months ago, car overheating now!?

I had the auto shop check everything, they said it was a seal on the cap. Fixed and drove home yesterday, and it started to overheat AGAIN, and I have NO heat!! I also checked the antifreeze and it was way low, so I am assuming I am leaking antifreeze somewhere? Anyone have any ideas? They are working on the car now, but I would like to kow what it might be incase they try and rip me off!

Sounds like the thermostat is bad. That will cause those problems. Get a Chilton manual and change it.

Offhand it appears like your 4-month-previous radiator is leaking. even as it leaks, you lose the nice and cozy temperature move fluid (blend of water and anti-freeze) which could flow between your motor & radiator...it possibilities up warmth interior the motor and dissipates warmth (to the ecosystem) on your radiator. even as the nice and cozy temperature move fluid leaks out, there is not any longer some thing to carry the nice and cozy temperature out of your motor to the radiator, and the motor overheats. besides, in the experience that your radiator is in hardship-free words 4 months previous, and it has a leak in it, then it would get replaced below assure. That employer of putting the "provide up leak" from autozone into the radiator is a few thing that fantastically a lot not in any respect works. human beings propose and purchase it on the theory that a million or 2 % of the time it does provide up a leak, however it truly is fantastically a lot like procuring a lottery value ticket. also, it truly is totally not likely that the water and anti-freeze could be placed into distinct "ports" below your hood. Now there must be a reservoir into which windshield washer fluid is placed, and maximum human beings only placed water into that in the months even as it received't freeze, yet that reservoir has no longer some thing to do with cooling your motor. The port into which the mixture of water & anti-freeze is going is often marked fantastically obviously. the different concern which could reason your motor to overheat, if it truly isn't any longer a hollow interior the radiator, is the water pump. i have in hardship-free words ever had one water pump provide me complications, and the way it failed is that it leaked...and brought concerning the motor vehicle to overheat -- because of lack of the water+anti-freeze warmth move fluid. Any hollow interior the cooling device will reason lack of fluid, and eventual overheating. My suggestion is to take it to everywhere the radiator substitute artwork changed into accomplished and ask them to diagnose the challenge. maximum places, in the experience that they bought you a defective radiator, will be worrying to change it below assure. And if it truly is a few thing like a nasty water pump, they're going to also be worrying to change that...yet they're going to make money on that, little question. good luck.

The water pipe might have had a crack and leaked water/antifreeze that could be the reason for overheating.

Erm.....did you check your oil as well by any chance? If it is orange and ganky, I think your original overheating episode has popped your head gasket. Sorry!, I've had this with four Vauxhalls in the past.
