A friend of my mothers had a baby that died from SIDS. It happened 35years or so ago but till this day she still mourns the loss of her baby. I was 10 when she told me and I could not understand how a baby could die for no known reason. When I had my twin girls I was so afraid that I would lose them to SIDS and then I really understood her pain. When my twins were born another mother in the ward across from my ward lost her baby from SIDS. 2 days after the baby was born.

When I lived at home with my parents, our next door neighbor's daughter had a baby that died of SIDS. She was just a couple of months old.

Several years later she gave birth to twins. As a measure of precaution, they wore heart and respiratory monitors for their first year. They're in their teens now.
