What does Post Production mean? (movie term)?
Often when googling I find movies that have a tag next to it saying that it is in post production. What does this mean? does it mean that it has finished filming and they are editing or something? thanks

Post-production is, in fact, many different processes grouped under one name. These typically include:
Video editing suite
* Editing the picture / television program
* Editing the soundtrack.
* Writing and recording the soundtrack music.
* Adding visual special effects - mainly computer-generated imagery (CGI) and digital copy from which release prints will be made (although this may be made obsolete by digital-cinema technologies).
* Transfer of film to Video or Data with a telecine and Color grading.
Typically, the post-production phase of creating a film takes longer than the actual shooting of the film, and can take several months to complete.

it means they are through filming the movie and going into the editing stages before they actually send it out to the theaters for people to see.

Yes, it means they are finished filming (it's "in the can"), and now they just have to edit the parts of the film together, add audio and SPFX, titles and credits, etc.
