This women has a nerve to come forward after all these years! What women ends up in a room full of men in the first place. Yeah John's betrayed his family and that's all. Why any of them should be punished for anything else!

lensta3 the police did not find that the act was consensual, they just couldn't find the evidence to make rape charges stick. This lack of evidence does not mean consent. To go on tv and apologise is an act that celebrities do to show the public remorse and to hopefully make sure that their reputations are upheld. Its an act done for their careers not for others. To have group sex with a 19 year old woman is not a man's man it is perverted and an act that is common in league circles. This is a league culture and one that needs to be stopped, hence NRL's staunch stance. Matty Johns is perverted and his brother Andrew Johns is a druggie and admitted his crack obsession. I don't think both brothers are a great example to the sport of league or to any other member of the australian and new zealand public. He may have been a good tv personality, but justice gets served some day. And fortunately justice was served now. If John's did nothing wrong against anyone else but his wife and family, then why did he lose his job? People don't lose their jobs over committing wrong to their wife and family. They may not have been able to find evidence, but none the less guilt and shame is written all over his face and within his body language on tv. Johns humiliated himself and he did wrong to the woman, league as a sport, his colleagues, his friends and his family.

Must be..hes not someone a woman could trust.

He did do wrong, by allowing his mates to take advantage of her. He even said he was sorry to her about the other blokes.

What she consented to was a 3 way, what she got was used and abused by over half a football team.

If he was so concerned for his wife and kids why was he splashing his wick about in another mans oats.

He is only sorry because he got caught out and he had to explain to his wife before the police got to her first.

He is not a mans man. A man would not take advantage of a teenager, 19 is still a teenager whether you like it or not. Teenagers are not known for their ability to see ahead what the consequences of their actions may be. That is why he is not a mans man. A mans man would have been a real man and protected someone younger and obviously too immature to understand a grown ups game.

I bet this is not the first time he has used and abused younger females, but i do hope it is his last.

There are a lot of good men out there that feel disgusted by the behaviour of some men that think they can do what they like.

i agree to a point but i don't think he should be apologising to the girl only his wife,family,friends and other PPL who look up to him.the fact is though it shouldn't have come to the publics attention.he made a mistake the girl made a mistake hes made it right with his wife and family it should have been left at that.the girl is trying to make someone else pay for her mistake,she has said it wasn't rape and she wasn't an unwilling participant at the time.PPL seem to be overlooking that.

by the way personally i think infidelity,group sex and casual sex are abhorrent and morally wrong and should be illegal but the facts are its not and most PPL these days think these things are OK.

I agree with BillP - and I have to say that being a man is simply being the BEST MAN you can be every day..not just every other day. Matty Johns is a MAN for facing this travesty all over again.
