I an 10 weeks pregnant adn really bad constipation?

I was just wondering if the stuff my doctor told me to get will help. He said take Colace and Merlex til I regulated. Then stop with the merlex but to keep eating lots of fiber. Does the Merlex and Colace work?

Colace worked for me but you do have to keep your fiber intake up while you're taking it or itll be harder for it to work

I think it will probably work. I'm 18 weeks and pretty lucky because I'm not too bad. I eat prunes when I have problems and take my other prenatal vitamins which has a stool softener in it. Taking it every day is too much for me. You could have your doctor switch you to a prenatal vitamin that has a stool softener in it. Make sure to drink lots of water too. I notice exercise helps me as well.

I don't see why they wouldn't work, your doc is giving them to you specifically for the purpose of relieving constipation.

You can try eating a whole can of baked beans, it worked for me!!! I didn't go for almost a week, ate a can of baked beans, and then went the next morning, and man did I ever go!!!

    Good luck and congrats!

I never had to take either of those, but walking and drinking prune juice every morning helped me a ton.

Neither worked for me. I'd recommend a warm water enema. It works fast and there's no chemicals.
