Single Player rpgs suggestions?

I'm anti-social so it has to be single player or option to play single. Must be free and no downloads.

Free, with no downloads? Doesn't actually exist.

There are side scrollers and action games, but RPG's have a lot of game to them, they're going to require storing data on your hard drive. It's just the nature of the beast.

The ONE exception might be to find a website that hosts an online(flash) emulator for the NES (I've never seen them for other systems, but they might exist for Megadrive, gameboy, genesis, or snes... I've just never seen them). If you can find one of those, you could play there. The problem is that I don't think they handle saves, so if you logged out, you'd lose your save and have to start over again. In an RPG, that's going to get really annoying.

As for free (With downloads) RPG, there are a lot of choices: Check out Acclaim's selection, they host a lot of free games now. D&D online is rumored to be going free soon too.

As for single player... Hmm, free single player... That's rare, really rare. Guild Wars has no subscription fee, and you can quest by yourself or with 'hired' computer-controlled henchman -but you'll still have to log in.

You're going to have a hard time finding a free single player RPG, even HARDER when you don't want to download something. Companies make money on multiplayer RPG's, because even if the game is free, users will pay more for extra items and experience to give them an edge on others. If you're playing on your own, you're not going to pay them for that stuff, they don't stand to make ANY money off you, and frankly, why would they do that?
