Jump serve=shoulder pain?

I started having shoulder problems once I started "ace-ing" my topspin jump serve is this related to technique or am I just hitting it too hard?

    This exact thing happened to me too! My coach told me that I was swinging my arm across my body instead of just snapping, so that caused the pain. Just pay attention to that you aren't swinging your arm across your body and it should get better!

    I'm honestly not sure. I have never successfully attempted a jump serve. Did you try stretching your arms first? Stretching is definitely a key thing in volleyball, otherwise you'd be sore for days. Try doing yoga, as girly as it may seem. Yoga and Pilates teach you how to stretch and increase flexibility, which may help with discomfort after playing.
