Hijacked home page to yahoo.com?
My I.E. homepage keeps going back to yahoo even though I have changed it. I have hit accept. It does stay to my change even if I close and open it, but it changes when I boot up the computer. I do have hijack protection set to my new homepage, but it doesn't see the change. I am not having this problem with Firefox.
How do I find out why this is happening and how do I correct it?
I don't have Yahoo toolbar.
The instructions to change the homepage in I.E. are old since the new update, but it's been generally what I've been doing.
Jon, that program didn't find anything.
I read that Yahoo Messenger alters I.E. if you accept what it says in the fine print. At least one of the alterations is to keep the homepage at yahoo.com. I've deleted Yahoo Messenger and it still does it. I've moved my bookmarks over to Firefox and I'm just going to use that.

There is a setting to lock your home page to prevent hijackers from changing it. I'm on Firefox so I don't know what the IE equivalent is. It should be under options. Just make sure to reset it after the change, for security reasons.

yahoo has a security program that it installs with a toolbar that will automatically change your homepage to yahoo everytime you chang it. go to all programs then yahoo toolbar and uninstall the security feature or better yet the whole toolbar.
