  • How do I report nondividend distributions on my tax return?

My Schedule B has my total dividends at $1,500 and my 1099 has my ordinary dividends as $1,000. The $500 difference was labeled as non dividend distributions. I didn't sell anything and I don't know what investment triggered this. Some sites say there is nothing to report so does that mean my Schedule B and line 1 on my 1099 can be different? If they can be different which number do I use on line 9a of my 1040 form?

  • Who is the most influential regressive act?

Some acts follow in the footsteps of great artists and some acts follow in the footsteps of acts that should not have been allowed to exist in the first place. What horrible artist(s) have led to other acts to further the decline in music quality?

  • What is a good image viewer?

I'm trying to view pictures in full screen. That means just the image and at 1920X1200 resolution. The problem is that Windows viewers and others compress the images so that there is a black bar on either side. I also want to see the picture and nothing else, including scroll bars. What is a good image viewer that shows the picture the way I have it set up and not one that compresses the image?

  • How to I get past the access denied prompt on my network drive?

I'm trying to get a computer to read a DVD drive on one computer from another computer. Both computers use Windows XP Home. I believe I set it up correctly since another prompt says the firewall has been reconfigured and the drive properties on the other computer can read the header of the disk I put in the computer that has the drive I'm trying to access.

  • What is your favorite revision of a song?

Either the music has changed but the lyrics are the same (such as Dilana's version of the Beetle's song Help) or the song's lyrics were changed and the music is the same (such as I'm Fat by ''Weird Al'' Yankovic).

  • Are U.S. ETFs that dabble in foreign stocks considered domestic or foreign securities on the new Schedule B?

These ETFs are from iShares and trade on the NYSE. I'm claiming foreign tax credit on them though. Schedule B is a new form for the IRS and I haven't seen this issue raised yet.

  • Why does Yahoo Answers lag with Internet Explorer?

My CPU usage jumps to about 98% and there is massive lag (making it hard to type since letters sometimes don't show up until I press the keys several times) while typing answers with Internet Explorer, but this is only on my home computer. It is Internet Explorer that is generating the CPU power. I don't have problems with my home computer using Firefox on Yahoo answers. What is causing my IE to use all that CPU power when trying to type in answers?

  • Hijacked home page to yahoo.com?

My I.E. homepage keeps going back to yahoo even though I have changed it. I have hit accept. It does stay to my change even if I close and open it, but it changes when I boot up the computer. I do have hijack protection set to my new homepage, but it doesn't see the change. I am not having this problem with Firefox.

  • Why are DVI-I monitors made with a low contrast and lighting?

I'm looking for a 24" DVI-I monitor. High end video cards use DVI-I, but most monitors use DVI-D which really sucks for me. So I see Eizo has 2 24" monitors SX2462W and SX2461W,but something is really odd. The SX2462W only has a contrast ratio of 850:1 even though they make monitors with 1000:1 contrast ratio. The CD/M^2 is only 270 yet they make them with 300 and even 360. The SX2462W only has a contrast ratio of 850:1 even though they make them with the DVI-D at 1000:1, but at least it has a 300 CD/M^2. EIZO is not the only company that has these weak stats in otherwise desirable monitors. Is there a reason for such poor stats on DVI-I 24" monitors?

  • Why is the military using the same names for different stuff?

F22 Raptor vs the AGM-142 Raptor

The AHA-64 Apache vs the French's Apache anti runway bomb

M1 rifle vs the M1 tank

The Strike Eagle vs The Golden Eagle

The SA-21 Growler vs the E/A-18G Growler

F-8 Crusader vs the Crusader tank vs the Crusader mobile artillery system

The list goes on. So why do they insist on common names, doesn't this get confusing on the battlefield and why don't they set up a system to prevent that since the U.S. is doing some of it on its own?

  • What is your backup site to find the true stock price?

Today, at the same moment in time, Yahoo lists EWZ as trading at $67.12 , Yahoo chart lists it at about $85 and barchart.com lists it trading at 85.03.

Barchart isn't always accurate either, because it said the SP500 crashed something like 80% in one day this year. That never happened.

So what site do you use that doesn't make mistakes in the true value of the stocks and indexes?

  • Bushmaster's water tank vs copper shape charged IEDs?

The objective of a copper shaped charged IED is to create molten metal to rapidly go in one direction. Would the 270 L floor mounted water tank on the Bushmaster cool the copper down fast enough, while bending the direction, to render it less damaging than if the copper hit standard armor?
