how come there is such little Christmas Spirit?

The stores have turned the holiday into a commercial event and people have forgotten it's true meaning. Now that people don't have enough money to indulge in the commercial aspects of the season, people are depressed. It's probably a good thing because Christ was not born in December. It's really a pagan holiday called winter solstice. Then again, it could be all this political correctness where you can't wish people Merry Christmas without somebody else getting their drawers in a knot. My father use to say "I think Scrooge should have held out for one more ghost." I agree.

I think that def the store early and earlier decorating is tiresome. But i think that maybe every one is going thru alot with finances, and the economy that eats away at some of the excitement cause stress over rides that. But I refuse to loose my Christmas spirit.. I agree completely Where I live all anyone cares about is break and a couple days of from work or maybe getting something nice. They all think of themselves I Have a best friend he is just like Jacob Marley from the scrouge story and all I want to see is him get what he wants for chrismas so please everyone please use the words Bah- Humbug less and show a little chritmas spirit

the big corporations greed is sucking this country dry and putting us more and more in debt every year.the people need to put a stop to this and quit allowing themselves to be brainwashed into thinking they have to spend,spend,spend.children need to be reeducated on what the christmas season is really about(not necesarily from a religious view,just from the principles from within your own family,whatever they may be).only then will the xmas season be enjoyable as it once was.hope you and yours have a merry christmas

well if you look at the word Christmas, Christ takes up most of the word, and mas takes up less of teh word. to day, i think there is less emphasis being put on Christ, the major part of Christmas and this is depleting the Christmas spirit. there is too much emphasis being put on the mas. mas retailer making a lot of money, parents buying mas-ive amounts of gifts for their kids. eating mas-ive amounts of food. to get the Christmas spirit back, we need to put the most emphasis back on Christ.

I buy for the ones that matter and I do all the things my mother use to do to make us happy this time of year

yaa u r right if stores would wait til like the week b4 black friday then more people probably would hav the spirit around this time. i hate it when people can b so rude and unhappy around this time of year. i love christmas and i always hav the spirit and more people should!
