Translate jokes into Shakespearean? Odd homework assignment.
1. Why didn't the skeleton cross the road? "He didn't have the guts!"
Wherefore doth not thine bones cross thy street? "He doth not hath thine guts!"
2. Why did the bear risk attacking the bee hive? "He thought it was a bear neccisity!!!!"
Wherefore doth thine bear, upon his life, challenge thy bee hive? "He believed't to be a bear neccisity!!!!"
Wherefore means Why in Shakespearean. As in "Wherefore art thou Romeo?" Juliet is asking Why are you Romeo? Because, as she explains in the rest of that monologue, if he were not a Montague, they could be together. Even though some people thinks it's Where are you, Romeo?
Anyway, it's hard to translate things into Shakespearean, but that's the best I can do. I hope it helps.
